Smart Layers: A Major Playground Advantage

One of Playground's most useful recent features is Smart Layers, introduced in May 2026. Instead of treating an AI-generated design as one flattened image, Smart Layers uses AI to identify separate objects and text.

Users can then select, move, resize, rotate, edit or delete individual elements. Text can be edited in place, while unwanted objects can be removed and the surrounding area regenerated. This makes Playground significantly more useful for practical graphic design.

Playground added GPT Image 2 to its premium model pool in April 2026, specifically emphasizing improved typography and spatial reasoning.
